I'm having the Taylors of Harrogate brand of Assam tea, and man is it good! As some of you may know, I love tea. In fact, if I had a bunch of money tomorrow I'd most likely travel the world for a few months and expand my horizons on food and tea.
Anyway, Assam Tea is a black tea with a thicker flavor, along with a malty overtone (as it is usually described). I usually don't put anything in it except for a little bit of sweetener to strengthen the cup. It really doesn't need much more.
I can't really identify with Assam, but I did live there for a little while as a child in the 80s. I do have memories of the place, and as such whenever I make a pot of Assam tea I am reminded of them. A notable attribute of Assam is its heavy rainfall and the lush greenery as a result. I remember the heavy rains that would fall every day, around 6am and 6pm if I'm not mistaken.
Anyway, I'd anyone to try a sampling of Assam tea.
